Risks will be mitigated, data protected yet available to authorized users, and the functionality of IT will be focused on empowering users to achieve business goals. Governance encompasses policy, procedure, organization, workforce education, training, employee selection and technology architectures. Governance enables businesses to outperform their rivals in the market. Governance enables agencies to enhance citizen service while protecting data, and enables national security organizations to enhance the nation’s defense. The cybersecurity components of good governance are the focus of this panel.
