Colonel (COL) Bobby Saxon serves at the Pentagon as Chief, Force Management Enterprise Division, Force Management Directorate, Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff, G-3/5/7, Headquarters Department of the Army. Colonel Saxon leads the Army G-3/5/7 Capability Management Office for Global Force Information Management and overseas development of the Enterprise Management Decision Support system (EMDS).

COL Saxon’s 30-year military career spans numerous active duty and reserve assignments, including service in Baghdad Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and the last five years on active duty assigned to the Pentagon. Prior to assuming his current position in 2010, COL Saxon was the assistant deputy Chief Information Officer (CIO) for the Army G-3/5/7. COL Saxon’s private sector career includes leadership positions for IT organizations specializing in healthcare technology prior to his founding a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software services company in 1997. COL Saxon led his CRM organization for over 10 years prior to re-entering active military service in 2009.

COL Saxon holds a degree in Business Administration from Georgia Southern University and a Master of Science degree in Government Information Leadership, with a Chief Information Officer concentration, from the National Defense University (NDU). COL Saxon was the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA) Distinguished Graduate for the NDU Advanced Management Program where he received his CIO certificate. COL Saxon also completed the NDU Government Strategic Leader certificate program.

COL Saxon has been recognized for government and industry awards to include: the 2014 GOVTek Executive Technology Award for Excellence in Big Data and the 2013 CIO Magazine “Ones to Watch” Award. The EMDS program was recognized in 2013 for the FedScoop 50 Award for Federal IT Program of the Year; the 2013 Computerworld Honors Laureate Innovation Award; and was recognized by GovLoop as one of the Top 20 Innovations that Mattered in 2013.
